Agoraphobia

A flame comes close to my face
A weight comes to bear down on my skin
A quickness calls out, a slow crushing in
Feet are walking, as they walk away
From all the things I come to
Bright faces and white lights reflecting in the pale linoleum
My voice is calling, voices screaming
Danger in the mareketplace
Feet are flying as they fly away from all the sundries
That I may or may not need
I may or may not need them
But they're caught up in debris
Of the flotsam, jetsam left there by that flame

Wolf

Maybe it's moonlight
Moonshine
That's turned my monk's cell
Into a wolf's den
I eat the flesh, I leave the rest
Just bones for a better man to mend

I was 17, working all night
Eyes sharp with no sleep
And my girl she's sweet
She brought me orange juice,
Snuck a braid in my hair
And we drove to the sea
Bodies laced in the waves
A crest of cold salt on my face
Her hands on my neck, then my waist
Our bodies washed in the wake
Before not too long it was hot days in the park, long nights in her car
I met her family
Her father delt yayo and leaves with her uncles
Her mother made ceviche and said,
"Besame flaco y mira los ojos"
Before not too long I packed up and moved town
To the deep down south
And I gave my sweet a painting to keep
"I heard the air's thick as thieves,
Heard they keep their dead above ground there"

My little Sophie P. how do you be
Just a sleepin' the whole day long?
I'm up out of my bed and you're in your head
Just a dreamin' the day away
My little Sophie P. how can you be
Just a dreamin' the day away?
I've been up since the dawn yet you slumber on
Must be some kind of feast in your dreams
My little Sophie P. how can't you see
Our star's come around to play?
Well there's more, yes of course
And some lovely to see
But none dear as what lights the day
Well, the wood floors are cold
You best stay where it's warm
Until the sun beats a path to take
But there's dreams in the day
So many more than where you lay
And they're made when we come awake

Gravity

Nothing is isolated, everything touches you
Like a cancer or kiss, who's to say which
Breathing, swimming, veins through the air that bring...
Come breathe life, come into me
A drop of water I will be
And fight no longer current seas
And take the wind that's pulling me
Breathing, swimming, veins through the air
That bring currents of anonymous light
Breathing, swimming, veins through the air
Here a peak, a trough
And Gravity calls out so distant
"Even a beautiful, free thing like you are mine,
In time"
So a bright burning light takes a wide berth
When crossing the sky, as do I
Come breathe life , come into me
A drop of water I will be
And fight no longer current seas,
Take the wind that's pulling me
Nothing is isolated
Like a cancer or kiss, a choice is made

La Risa

La risa bonita viene del pasillo
Y no me di cuenta
Quel tiempo pasaba
Paso a paso hace un coro en mi mente
En mis pensamientos veo olas y colores
Veo verde-azul
La risa violeta
La risa bonita venía del pasillo
Y no me di cuenta
Que los momentos pasaban
Poco a poco la risa, el coro
Apagándose tan lento
La risa violeta apaga
Las ultimas sombras profundas de la madrugada

Out of earshot or maybe they're sealed shut to what I say
I've been screaming I need you almost every day
Angry with me, so angry we're far away
And I'm a villain for the distance, I know
Like I want it this way
Out of earshot, I got my teeth cut
All I want is you under the shade of our tree
But the distance persists, honey-baby, when I'm by your side
Tack a million to the miles with a sigh
And the silence grows deep
The distance persists in the pouting of lips and your eyes
You're a kid with stamping feet
I'm the thief and I'm the treat that I took
I trekked a long road and now I'm back home
And all I see are wolves at my Penelope's feet
Out of earshot, I got my teeth cut
All I want is you under the shade of our tree

Breath the Zealot
04:16
|
|
||
Breathe in, breathe out
Comes the world and lightly out
For what great body,
What brief rhythm shines?
Breathe in, breathe out
Comes the world and lightly out
Like a heart beats, a well of life
A zealous priest pounds a zealot's rite
For what great body,
What brief rhythm shines?

(A Round) for Angelina

My dear confidant,
The bird in my chest,
There's a place that I hold
Like an oak in my breast for us both
My sweet Angelina, I'd see that oak fall
If it was weeping from your eyes
That made it grow tall
My sweet Angelina, the bird in my chest
What songs did you sing
While you waited for slow-flying me?
My dear confidant, the bird in my chest
There's a place that I hold
Like an oak in my breast for us both
